Local Area Information

On this page we have included a wide range of useful links to local events and services.

NEWSPAPERS
There are two newspapers serving the local area.
The Lynn News is published on Tuesdays and Fridays, with a Property Sale section included in the Friday edition.
There is also a free local newspaper "Your Local Newspaper" available in Rodwells fish and chip shop and some supermarkets.

The Eastern Daily Press is published daily, except Sundays, and is very good for regional and national news. Both papers maintain very good and up to date websites.

TOURISM and ACCOMMODATION
Information about visiting West Norfolk is best found through the Visit West Norfolk web page, which is part of the Borough Council website, or the Visit Norfolk website, which is described as the Official Tourism website for Norfolk and Norwich.

TV and RADIO
The whole of West Norfolk has now gone digital for all TV services. In the village some people have found that an upgrade of their aerial has been needed, whilst others receive an excellent signal through their existing equipment.

There are two local radio services BBC Radio Norfolk on 95.1FM, 104.4FM and DAB (although you my not be able to tune to the DAB service in this area) and KLFM on 96.7FM which is a King's Lynn music based station with local news and a good website.

Weather.
If you want a local weather forecast here is one from the Met office. Tottenhill is nearest published forecast. Weather forecast

Watlington Wildlife Park
Plans are being drawn up by Edward Pope for a Wildlife Park covering 170 acres on the edge of the village. The site boundary will be north of Thieves Bridge Road, east of Mill Road, Plough Lane and Lynn Road and then west of the C51 Road to Tottenhill.
Mr Pope has a vision ‘to create an inspirational centre for education, a visitor experience that people can enjoy and a site for extraordinary wildlife encounters.’ He is passionate about the conservation of endangered animals and wild birds and for several years provided a refugee programme for deer and antelope. There will be a main visitor centre (The Stingray), which will have extensive views over the site, an education room, cafe and function facilities. For a closer experience with the wildlife, visitors will be able to board trailersgiving tours around the park. This is still in the planning stage but would be a huge asset to west Norfolk and Watlington.
